Highlights - Carling Cup in 90 seconds

Holders Manchester United will continue their defence of the Carling Cup with a trip to West Ham in the quarter-finals.

In the tie of the round, second city rivals Birmingham and Aston Villa have been drawn to meet at St Andrew's.

Arsenal are bidding to win their first piece of silverware since 2005 and they welcome Wigan to the Emirates Stadium.

Championship side Ipswich, the only non-Premier League club remaining, are rewarded for their win over Northampton with a home tie against West Brom.

Arsenal, who beat Newcastle 4-0 in round four, were first out of the hat and they will entertain Wigan, 2-0 winners against Swansea, in a repeat of their fourth-round encounter in 2008.

A youthful Gunners side triumphed 3-0 on that occasion, but three seasons earlier the Latics came out on top over two legs to reach the first major final in their history.

Your thoughts on the draw for the Carling Cup quarter-finals

Wigan were beaten by Manchester United in the showpiece and Sir Alex Ferguson's men, who battled to a 3-2 win against Wolves on Tuesday, will look to take a step closer to Wembley once more when they travel to Upton Park.

West Ham claimed an extra-time victory over Stoke to reach this stage but they are currently bottom of the Premier League and have a poor recent record against United - losing each of their last six meetings, with just one goal scored and 17 conceded.

For Birmingham, who edged past Brentford on penalties, and Aston Villa it is a chance to renew their fierce local rivalry after this Sunday's Premier League meeting.

Villa, 2-1 extra-time winners over Burnley, have won each of the last six derbies and four of the six League Cup matches between the pair.

Following their 4-1 win at Leicester, a trip to Portman Road awaits for 1966 winners West Brom.

Ipswich are struggling in the Championship but they proved too strong for Northampton in the fourth round and will be keen to reach a first League Cup semi-final since 2001.

Quarter-finals draw:

Arsenal v Wigan
Birmingham v Aston Villa
West Ham v Manchester United
Ipswich v West Brom

Ties to be played in the week commencing 29 November
