By Keir Murray

1419: The attendance at McDiarmid Park today was 6,866. Quite a few of those were dressed up for Hallowe'en.

1412: While we're waiting for news from the grounds, a shameless plug for the online highlights of the SPL matches. For today's matches, these will be available on the BBC Sport site at 1800 GMT on Sunday.

1406: "So much for your pundits on Wed night that Sat would be tough for Tic. Wishful thinking was what it really was. Tell Murdo that the last goal today was to make up for the 4th goal on Wed that Tic blatantly got cheated out of, even though Murdo thought the fourth should not have mattered." An anonymous text.

1400: I'll bring you the team news from around the country as soon as I can.

1357: Ah, those heartless Celtic fans... "As the Beatles said it, Loovens should get back to where he once belonged. I'll chip in for a taxi to Cardiff." From Euan, Notts.

My Sport
archiepellagow on My Sport: "A good away win for CFC, next week at home vs Aberdeen then a tough midweek tie at Tynecastle. The Dons shouldn't pose too many problems, I hope, but Hearts at home is another story. A win in Perth is a wee boost though."

1352: Celtic are level on points with Rangers for three hours at least. Emilio Izaguirre was terrific to watch today. Could it have something to do with his left-footedness? He looks good on the ball, well balanced, fast, forward-thinking - definitely a good 'un.

Full time
Full-time: St Johnstone 0-3 Celtic

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Niall McGinn has a "riddy" after that goal. He really looks bashful. He fluffs his angled first-time shot from 10 yards...but it bounces into the net to give him his second of the game.

GOAL! St Johnstone 0-3 Celtic (McGinn)

1349: More on Loovens' musical tastes: "He's surely listening to The Communards - Don't Loov me this way." That from Kieran in Edinburgh.

Red card
Saint Johnstone's Danny Grainger fouls Anthony Stokes and is shown a second yellow card by referee Callum Murray.

1344: Dom in Irvine isn't pulling his punches! "Taxi for Loovens, with Chris Rea's 'This is the road to Hell' on the stereo." Steady on, Dom, he might score a flying header for you next week.

1342: Sam Parkin is called offside again. The Celtic fans are in full voice. Saints have seven minutes to somehow save a point.

1340: Ki Sung-Yeung takes a corner for Celtic but Liam Craig heads clear. Celtic switch the play from right to left, Emilio Izaguirre crosses for Georgios Samaras and his shot goes a few yards wide.

1338: Sam Parkin tries a header at the Celtic goal but he is offside.

1336: These suggestions are brightening my day! Colin in Glasgow, by text to 80295, says: "I would imagine Glenn Loovens is listening to Blame it on the Boogie - 'I just can't, I just can't, I just can't control my feet...'."

1334: If St Johnstone are going to get anything from this match they will surely have to score soon. There are 17 minutes left.

1332: Liam Craig heads behind for a Celtic corner from which Jennison Myrie-Williams causes panic in the Saints defence with a mis-hit clearance.

1331: Another cracking suggestion for what Glenn Loovens is listening to on his iPod: "Perhaps due to the up and down nature of his form, Glenn Loovens' chosen track should be Aerosmith's classic Looven a elevator." Alan Cameron, Bearsden.

1328: A rare chance for St Johnstone as Jennison Myrie-Williams volleys a shot across goal and Marcus Haber is a fraction away from reaching it. Celtic goalie Fraser Forster looked sharp to make the clearance.

My Sport
moutainview-motel on My Sport is at the wind-up: "Celtic must wish they had someone of Steven Milne's quality to play defence splitting passes all the time."

1325: As a move for the Perth Saints peters out, Celtic hit on the break but the move collapses when Niall McGinn makes a poor decision - too slow to pass to a team-mate.

1323: "St Johnstone are passing it better and more players are getting forward." BBC Scotland football pundit Murdo MacLeod

My Sport
QatarBhoy on My Sport: "I'm impressed that Cha Du-Ri made the starting line-up and is also on the bench ready to come on. As for Loovens' i-Pod, I reckon he's listening to a medley of In the Ghetto, Should I Stay or Should I Go? and Under Pressure..."

1320: I hope the Dundee Utd vs Hibs game today is a cracker and an advert for what Colin Calderwood is going to achieve up here. Two teams that need a win!!!! ho i-bees." John Deadly, Leith, by text to 80295.

1317: St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes freshens up his attack, with Sam Parkin and Collin Samuel replacing Peter MacDonald and Steven Milne. Can the subs spark the Saints into life?

1314: Celtic manager Neil Lennon cuts a relaxed-looking figure in the dugout, feet up as he shares a tactical thought with assistant Alan Thompson. Given Celtic's recent defensive problems, Lennon must be happier with what he's witnessed today.

1312: St Johnstone need to find a goal soon if they are to stand any chance of salvaging something from this game. But they have looked strangely subdued today, a shadow of the side that came roaring back against Celtic in midweek.

1310: Cha Du-Ri controls the ball in the right hand side of the box and fires a shot straight at Graeme Smith.

1308: I was having a quick look at some of the texts coming into the Off the Ball in box. There is one that reminds us of Derek Johnstone's remark about a substitution where he said the manager had "a fresh pair of legs up his sleeve".

1306: The second half is under way and the sun is still out.

My Sport
dontcallmemarco on My Sport "Am I watching a different game? Yeah fair enough it was an error that led to the chance but Izaguirre's first touch and finish was probably the best piece of skill that we'll see this entire weekend of football up North."

"Re 12:53. We would love to take Glenn back to Cardiff. But we will keep our £4m. Ta." Dan the chief, by text to 80295.

1300: Later this afternoon, Rangers play Inverness CT, Motherwell take on Hamilton in the Lanarkshire derby, Dundee United host Hibs and basement side St Mirren play Aberdeen.

"It's 112 years since Rangers last won their first 10 league games. Only Chick Young can remember that." BBC Scotland commentator Alasdair Lamont

1256: "Izzy has been a great signing for us this year, so consistent and a cracking goal there! Keep a clean sheet and I'll be happy this afternoon."Sean, Aberdeen, by text to 80295, is a fan of Celtic's Honduran goalscorer

1253: Well, St Johnstone came back from 3-0 down against Celtic on Wednesday to make it 3-2, but they really have not threatened Fraser Forster in the Celtic goal.

Half time
Half-time: St Johnstone 0-2 Celtic

1248: Re. the music on Glenn Loovens' iPod? "You've lost that Looven feeling. Perhaps?" From Dave Moss by text to 80295.

1245: "Celtic are now in a very strong position and St Johnstone, as they did in midweek, are making a big contribution to Celtic's advantage. The visitors are cruising." BBC Scotland commentator Rob Maclean

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
A disaster for Steven Milne. The Saints defender makes a suicidal pass to his goalkeeper in a congested penalty box and Emilio Izaguirre nicks in to stab the ball past Graeme Smith.

GOAL! St Johnstone 0-2 Celtic (Izaguirre)

1243: Ha! Nice one, Stu in Ayr by text to 80295. "Re 1232. Is Loovens perhaps listening to Return to Sender and we can ship him back to Cardiff City? Mon the hoops!"

1240: Peter 'Peaso' MacDonald gets on the end of a looping cross from the right but cannot get any power on it to trouble the Celtic goal.

1236: Saints are alive! Marcus Haber makes a run down the left but his shot or cross is blunted by the hefty leg of Daniel Majstorovic.

1235: Saints have failed to show much by way of attacking threat so far. The Galloping Greek Georgios Samaras broke into a canter for the first time in the game.

1232: Celtic defender Glenn Loovens is sitting in the stand at McDiarmid Park listening to his iPod. Wonder what's his chosen track after he was dropped? Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis?

My Sport
JodyMorris4England on My Sport "McInnes will be so disappointed with that start. After the way Wednesday's match panned out all he will have been asking for was the team to be alert defensively for the first 20 minutes. They were anything but for that goal."

1228: An anonymous text to 80295 with an explanation for McGinn's booking: "McGinn didn't just run behind the goal! He grabbed some of the crowd, some more of whom then came over the stand to pitchside. We know the rules, automatic booking. No probs! Come on Celtic!"

1226: Anthony Stokes must have seen more of the ball in the first 22 minutes of this match than in the entire 90 minutes of previous games this season.

1224: "A super ball from Mark Wilson and if Stokes finds the target with his header then it's in the net." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod

1223: "Derek McInnes was chasing the linesman there because he felt McGinn was offside. He's now having a chat with the Celtic backroom staff!" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod

1223: Celtic's Mark Wilson cuts inside from the right wing and clips a ball into the box for Anthony Stokes to head, but his effort goes wide.

1222: Jennison Myrie-Williams and Emilio Izaguirre renew their rivalry, the pair having tested one another fully in the midweek Co-operative Insurance Cup match. Celtic's Honduran left-back looked happy to be subbed at the end of that match.

1219: Niall McGinn was booked for running behind the goal to celebrate his strike for Celtic. We can't be having displays of emotion now, can we? Dear, dear.

1216: "Derek McInnes will be angry at conceding that early goal, but his side just keep giving the ball away." BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo MacLeod

1215: Ah, dear. Saints' Michael Duberry tries a Charlie Adam-like (OK, maybe not) 60 yard crossfield free-kick...but it flies out the pitch.

1213: As always, it's great to hear your thoughts on the match, whether it's by text to 80295 or on My Sport. It all adds to the heady mixture of Saturday soccer fun.

Someone has struck the woodwork
1211: It's one-way traffic at the moment. Three men in blue go to Anthony Stokes on the edge of the box on the right wing and he produces a lovely back-heel through to Ki Sung-Yeung who cracks a low shot across the goal and off the post.

1209: "The Celtic supporters are delighted with the start their side have made to this game. St Johnstone are having questions asked of them here." BBC Scotland commentator Rob Maclean

1208: There was an early pitch inspection at McDiarmid Park today but it looks in good condition, though maybe a bit soft in one goalmouth where the autumn sun cannot get to work its wonders.

1206: "Quite incredible, a similar to the start of the Co-op Cup game here at McDiarmid Park in midweek!" BBC Radio Scotland pundit Murdo McLeod

Goooooooaaaaaaaaal
Ki fires a low free-kick across the Saints box and Anthony Stokes thumps a low shot at goal, which is parried brilliantly by Graeme Smith. Niall McGinn is fastest to react and he nips in to open the scoring after 68 seconds.

GOAL! St Johnstone 0-1 Celtic (McGinn)

1204: This is the hundredth meeting between the sides.

1202: And the match is under way.

1200: Forster, Wilson, Majstorovic, Rogne, Izaguirre, McGinn, Ledley, Ki, Du-Ri, Samaras, Stokes. Subs: Zaluska, Juarez, Hooiveld, Cha, Crosas, McCourt, Towell.

1159: So the St Johnstone team is: Smith, Maybury, MacKay, Duberry, Grainger, Myrie-Williams, Millar, Haber, Craig, Milne, MacDonald. Subs: Enckelman, Rutkiewicz, Parkin, Samuel, Jackson, May, Caddis..

1157: Uh-oh. Celtic's Shaun Maloney is unwell and will not play after all. Cha Du-Ri will start instead.

1151: Jennison Myrie-Williams earns a start for St Johnstone in place of the injured Murray Davidson in midfield. Marcus Haber, Peter MacDonald and Steven Milne come in for Collin Samuel, Sam Parkin and Andy Jackson as manager Derek McInnes adds three fresh forwards to his line-up.

1150: Shaun Maloney returns to midfield after missing out in the Co-operative Insurance Cup tie between the sides with a black eye suffered in last weekend's defeat by Rangers, with striker Gary Hooper missing through injury.

1146: Glen Loovens and Cha Du-Ri are the men to pay for recent defensive lapses highlighted by Celtic manager Neil Lennon and are replaced in the starting line-up with Thomas Rogne and Mark Wilson.

1140: Welcome to the live text commentary following all the action in the Scottish Premier League. We start with Celtic's return to Perth to play St Johnstone after their 3-2 win at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday in the quarter-final of the Co-operative Insurance Cup.
